ACME Solar Holdings Limited has been awarded a major renewable energy project in Madhya Pradesh, further strengthening its presence in India’s clean energy sector. The company has received a Letter of Award from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) for the development of a 220 MW solar power project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

The project is part of RUMSL’s broader 440 MW tender for the Morena Solar Park, which was conducted through tariff-based competitive bidding. The e-reverse auction for the tender was held in September 2025.

Key Project and Commercial Details

Under the award, ACME Solar will develop a 220 MW solar-plus-storage facility at a tariff of ₹2.764 per unit. The project will be located at the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh and will operate under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Commercial operations are scheduled to begin by December 31, 2027.

The project is required to operate with a maximum annual capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 35% and maintain an annual availability of 95%.

Peak Power Supply and Technical Structure

A key feature of the project is its obligation to supply power during peak demand hours. The system must deliver four hours of peak supply each day, split equally between morning and evening periods.

Energy for the evening peak will be generated and stored directly from the solar plant, while power required for the morning peak will be supplied free of cost by the procurer during night hours. RUMSL will also provide land and evacuation infrastructure above the 33 kV level as part of the solar park’s common facilities.

Regulatory Framework and Compliance

The project will benefit from a reduced GST regime and must comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I requirements. The PPA will be executed with Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited in coordination with RUMSL.

ACME Solar’s Expanding Renewable Portfolio

ACME Solar Holdings operates as an integrated renewable energy company with a diversified portfolio of 8,071 MW across solar, wind, hybrid, firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE), and energy storage solutions.

The company currently has an operational contracted capacity of 2,966 MW, while 5,105 MW is under construction, including nearly 17 GWh of battery energy storage installations. The under-construction portfolio with signed PPAs stands at 2,664 MW.

Supported by in-house EPC and operations and maintenance capabilities, ACME Solar manages the complete lifecycle of its projects, focusing on timely execution, cost efficiency, and strong operational performance.

Summary

ACME Solar Holdings has secured a 220 MW solar-plus-BESS project at Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited. Awarded at a tariff of ₹2.764 per unit, the project includes peak power supply obligations and is scheduled for commissioning by December 2027. The win further strengthens ACME Solar’s growing renewable energy and storage portfolio.
